The 13th installment of the Twisted Hunt is back with the theme Spectres; spirit realm, phantoms & ghosts, running from March 5 – April 5, 2015.  The Twisted Hunt is noted as the hardest hunt on the gird with 82 stores participating but the gifts are well worth the effort. Victorian Romance

The 7th Annual Peace on Earth Hunt is just a few days away and I’m very excited to be selected as an official blogger for my favorite hunt!  Most of my loyal readers know I love hunts and can’t pass up a bargain, but what they don’t know is I got hooked on Second Life because of the POE hunt all the way back in 2009.  My dear friend Niki was constantly asking me to join her on her virtual journey but I was skeptical, super busy with work and if I had free time I just wanted to sleep.  One day she said help me find the POE hunt object (a world globe, pictured below), then showed me the magic of the virtual reality platform.  A few years passed but I finally returned to SL in the summer of 2012 and every December 1, I hunt for the great gifts offered on the POE hunt.  Last years selection was super, I used most of the items to furnish our home and can’t wait to showcase the goodies this year.  The Peace on Earth Hunt runs from December 1, 2014 to January 6, 2015 with over 100+ stores offering everything for ladies, gents and home enthusiasts.  To kick-off the POE hunt spotlight, I return to the lovely world of SL fashion with a regal elegant enchanting Poinsettia printed gown by Paris Metro Couture.  The Holiday Memories gown has a flowy skirt, lovely abstract floral pattern and nods to Victorian charm making it the perfect garment to wear to formal events and holiday gatherings.  I paired the gown with Chop Zuey Betty 2.0 Set, with texture change gems and metal options for the earrings, necklace and bracelet…..ohhhh! A Stately Manor

Only 2 more days for the 7th Annual Second Life Home & Garden Expo 2014!

Today, I have a very special treat for you, a French Provincial Manor Home, Maison d’Ete by Tess Spargel of Spargel & Shines Homes.  I’ve had the wonderful fortune to work with Ms. Spargel a number of times in the past and at each opportunity I’m blown away by Tess’s incredible attention to detail, fine finishing and quality of design.  All items are copyable.  Spargel & Shine Homes point of view is antique ‘super chic.’  Elegance and refinement define this special designer, whether a home, a store build, or gorgeous furniture.  The Maison d’Ete house is a stately three-story white plaster facade with iron balconies, window boxes, and a grand wrap around terrace.  Two stories come with their own working fireplace, a main control system for the door & window openings, and window treatments.  The drapes consist of sheers, powder blue satin pull backs, or bare. The main floor has numerous working doors that open to the terrace.  Inside the grand manor you are greeted with a stunning staircase and a tiled great room with ample space for generous seating areas.   The powder blue walls are offset by gilded gold paneling.   The home is truly exquisite, inviting and livable.  For the SL Home & Garden Expo Tess released the E’te Dining Set* (table & chairs with rezzable food, wine & lace table-cloth) and E’te Decor Set* (paintings, rug, urns, mirror, and candelabra), all donation items on Sim 6.

In this space, I created a music room using Kaerri Garden Piano* (Sim 8), Steaming Ahead Victorian Garden Bench (Sim 4), and Organica Belvedere Leather (Sim 6) seating area, adding a modern and whimsical nod to the formal elegant home.  In separate areas of the grand room are small places to rest, relax, talk and enjoy the music.  A tasteful and charming home filled with a touch of class!

Home and Garden Expo (HGE) raises money for Relay For Life of Second Life (RFL of SL).  Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature fundraising event, and RFL of SL is one of its virtual counterparts. Keep Calm & Call the Doctor

Calling all Whovians fans out there, Marina Ramer & Jaylin Whitewood, the sweet treat design duo of Aphrodite Shop has recently released the Dr Who collection of cakes!  If you are not familiar with Doctor Who, it’s a British cult TV show (1963-present) “depicting the adventures of the Doctor, a Time Lord—a time-travelling humanoid alien.  He explores the universe in his TARDIS, a sentient time-travelling space ship. Its exterior appears as a blue British police box, which was a common sight in Britain in 1963 when the series first aired.  Along with a succession of companions, the Doctor faces a variety of foes while working to save civilizations, help ordinary people, and right wrongs.”

Aphrodite Shop Dr Who Collection consists of the “Dr Space” Musical Wedding Cake (Tardis & Dalek) with multiple cake toppers, 8 flavors, table, and it plays From This Moment by Shania Twain.  There is also a “Dr Space” Birthday Cake and Dalek Choc Cake, released as a special request for all the Whovier fans.  I styled the Tardis & Dalek wedding cake, creating a wedding reception sweethearts table surrounded by the blue police box, hourglass tables & bench (sneak peek of Finishing Touches Twisted Hunt gift), numerous clocks, and the Dalek chocolate cake serving as the Groom Cake in the display.  If you are a fan of Doctor Who, Steampunk, Sci-Fi, British Pop Culture, or sweets then this is the collection to get.  The Dr Who cakes are available at the main Aphrodite Shop or on the Marketplace.  Looks so Yummy!
