Happy Saturday! Hope your week went well. I’ve been battling a flu/cold all week, so I’m going to skip waxing poetically and get right to the point. Today’s post features a few time sensitive events closing on Tuesday, February 28, 2017. First up is Park Place Home Decor Black Leather Chaise, Red Heart Garland Wall Decor, Gray Shag Diamonds Area Rug, Leafy Green Table Plant and French Walnut Round Accent Side Table exclusive for the Swank Event ending 2/28/17. The theme for February was truly, madly, deeply; which inspired the darker boudoir. Next is Brook Hill Livings recent release for the February round of The Crossroads Event, the Wagner Chair in Ebony and Spotlight, closing 2/28/17. I also used the Faun Chandelier in Midnight, available for sale at the main store. The remaining decor items are from a new to me subscriber monthly event called Deco(c)rate. On the 8th of every month a mystery box with 15 semi-exclusive items from top H&G designers are delivered to your inventory, if you reserved your cart for $1,500L before the 7th. Afterward the price doubles to $3,000L. In today’s post, I used Mudhoney Ginny Bed, Second Spaces Mood Lighting Candles, Cheeky Pea Forgotten Places Fireplace, Hextraordinary Antique Cherub Lamp, Stockholm & Lima The Lovers Trail and Serenity Style All for Love Suitcase. There are a number of other items that I hope to showcase before the new March boxes arrive. Personally, I’m still a little on the fence about a subscription event, time will tell if it’s for me. (I do love my bargains :-)) Lastly, I mentioned in my last blog post I wanted to spotlight more gifts from the Love Me…Love Me Not Hunt (ending 2/28) and Gloria is sporting the Facepalm Just Love red silk sleep shirt in standard sizing and mesh compatible. Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree!
The fifth annual Second Life Christmas Expo will run from December 3 to 14, 2015 and is a mega event that raises funds for Relay For Life of Second Life (RFL of SL). 100% of registration fees, sponsorship fees, kiosk donations, hunt, raffle, auction, and vendor donation items are paid to Relay For Life of Second Life. Relay For Life of Second Life is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society and is a virtual version of The Society’s signature real life fundraiser – Relay For Life. The 2015 Second Life Christmas Expo will consist of both holiday and non holiday items from some of the best creators and designers in Second Life, spread across 8 sims! The Expo will feature special events, including live performances, djs, skating parties, a Snowman Building Contest, Hunt For the Bells, Naughty Or Nice, a Christmas Tree Lot, holiday raffles and gotchas, and of course photos with Santa! The Holiday Of Hope Ball, for the 5th year running, will be held at the Christmas Expo. And returning to the Christmas Expo as a special event this year is the Avi Choice Fashion Awards.
Since there are so many activities happening within the Expo, I wanted to highlight a few in today’s post. My dear friend, the jolly elf Earth Nirvana of Whimsical Happenings is participating in the Christmas Tree Lot with an exclusive festive and spirited upside-down garden pot tree complete with presents under the tree. The Lopsi Tree is a modern, unique and whimsical approach to Christmas Tree! 100% of the proceeds of the sale is donated to Relay for Life of Second Life, check it out.
Another fun event at the Expo is the Hunt for the Bells ’15, a $10L hunt with 100% donated to The American Cancer Society. This year there is a photo contest (12/5-12/15) for the Hunt for the Bells hunt, with a grand prize of $10,000L giftcard with other prizes for runners-up. To enter you must use at least 10 hunt items, submit a NC listing the items to Earth Nirvana and send full perm picture to Leala Spire for voting & social media placement. The windmills of my mind
Spring is in full bloom and the weather is perfect for daydreaming. I just want to lay out on a grassy knoll and have the sun’s rays wash over my face, and feel its warmth, as I delight in the wonders of the world. Visions of yummy sweet treats, butterflies dancing above my head and the sounds of a grand fountain flash before my eyes; capturing the freshness of the spring season like a rose bud ready to pop open, with its intoxicating fragrance are the windmills of my mind.
Luckily for me I found just the place to recreate my daydream in Second Life. Liv Glam’s new main store location, the Ishel Down is an enchanting cobblestone village with shops such as Fashion Star, Designer Showcase, Zanze, Indyra Originals, and of course the cornerstone Liv Glam. If you are looking for a new photo location, or want to be transported to a charming European street, check it out. All my photo’s were taken at the Ishel Down location and I discovered the most delicious cafe with yummy sweets and an elegant lounge area.
As for the perfect spring dress, only Liv Glam’s Wishing Well HUD 1 would do. Not only is LG’s Wishing Well a sweet spring strapless 50’s style full skirt adorable, but it has a 6 pantone hud, allowing you to customize each look depending on your mood or occasion. To truly capture the feeling of spring, I paired Liv Glam’s Wishing Well dress with Truth Hair April (available at Collabor88 for $188L) with its optional butterfly clip. I love the luminous and radiance texture of Truth Hair. There is a natural tonality in the strands of hair with deeper richer tones and highlights, and hair appears to have movement. I carried the butterfly motif down to the shoes using Hucci Vinnitsa Slink add- on (High) with the sculpted butterflies on the heel back (available at Collabor88 for $88L).
To complete the look, I used Pure Posion’s new group gift, Aileen Necklace. (PS, Pure Poison is having an Easter sale 50% off). The simple silver scallop collar draws the eye back to Liv Glam’s Wishing Well back bow detailing. Finally, DaD Design Paper Windmill (exclusive item at The Feeling Event, $180L modifiable) was the ideal accompaniment to finalize my tribute to spring. Worn through out is Belleza’s Rose skin (past FLF item) now available for $250L at temporary store. Ma Vie Girl Fever poses (past Lazy Sunday special). All Nighter
Remember back in school when you would stay up all late cramming for an exam or project. Your body ached from sitting in that chair, your eyes were crossed and there was that smell, you couldn’t really pinpoint by you were sure it was your body saying, I NEED SLEEP. Yes, is it starting to come back to you now, that feeling of complete exhaustion mixed with jubilee. Well, this past weekend I was working on a few builds and shopping at all the events when before I knew it was early morning, I mean 3am. Daylight savings time always mixes up my body and I lose track of time (or at least that’s what I’m going with). I looked up at the clock and thought just one more try, maybe I’ll get into Collabor88, and I did. It was a sign that I had more shopping to do and my inventory wanted more friends.
