Are YOU the new face of fashion?

Kastle Rock Couture established in Second Life in 2008 and has grown into a popular choice for quality women’s daywear and formal wear. KRC prides itself on fun designs with class, elegance and style.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
At this time, we seek a new team of fashion models to walk our latest designs down the runway! Finalists are offered a place in the lineup for our upcoming summer show currently scheduled for July 21, 2013. They will also be considered our official store models until our next competition,* utilized for possible print ads, events and future runway shows.** (not to be confused with our in-store models spinning around on a stand)

HOW TO ENTER:
=Join our Flickr group and submit an image to the group pool by June 17th at 11:59PM SLT

NO DISPLAY NAMES

=Contestant MUST be wearing Kastle Rock Couture clothing currently available in the store. (This means nothing out of the discount store or 4 year old designs no longer sold, etc)

Your image will be judged on 3 criteria:
-Artistic expression
-Avatar appearance
-Styling/representation of product

=Photos will have no writing or logos. A photographer’s “signature” is allowed in the corner if it is modest.

=No nudity.

Semi-Finalists will be chosen by a panel of 5 qualified judges from the fashion and modeling industry. These will advance to the runway phase of the competition, scheduled for 10AM SLT June 22, 2013. Semi-finalists will be scored on appearance/styling, posing and walking.

Finalists will receive clothing and store credit for Kastle Rock Couture and possible linden payments. Other incentives may be offered as well.

** Those chosen to fill the model positions understand they are not under contract. Available model work will be per diem and offered at the discretion of management. Either party may end the agreement at any time. You may accept work from other stores/agencies during this time.

MISS TWA 2013 RULES AND INFORMATION

1) The contest will start on Saturday 1st June;

2) All women wishing to take part MUST be more than 6 months old in SL. I will check

3) All women entering this contest MUST also be in The White Armory group and that The White Armory group is showing in your list of groups. Again I will check 🙂

4) No previous modelling experience is required

5) Contestants MUST wear clothing by The White Armory only

6) Jewellery, hair, skin, shoes, etc can be worn by other designers

7) All photographs taken for the challenges MUST be taken by you and not by another photographer. Also, no photo morphing please.

8) You may edit your photos yourself

9) Finally if you are one of the lucky ladies to go through to the Final of the contest, you must be available on the following dates and times:

Wednesday 31st July at 12pm slt – Rehersal
Saturday 3rd August at 1pm slt – Rehersal
Sunday 4th August at 1pm slt – FINAL

If you don’t think you can attend, then please re-think before you enter this contest.

Entry instructions or Stage 1:

1) Each entrant must take one full body shot photo wearing your favorite gown or outfit by The White Armory,

2) You’re photo has to be taken by YOU and not by another photographer.

3) Please ensure that your photo is Full Permissions so that I can place it onto the contest board.

4) Name your photo/texture Miss TWA 2013 – Your Name.

5) Please submit your TEXTURE ONLY to Piper Hanriot by no later than Saturday 15th June at 1pm slt.

The White Armory Spring Photo Contest

The White Armory is hosting a new beginnings spring photo contest to showcase this role play clothier. To enter the contest all you need to do is: style a TWA outfit, and submit your photo to Bee Dumpling by Wednesday, May 15, 2013. The prizes are: 1st place all new releases for the first 3 month, 2nd place three free TWA outfits and 3rd place one free TWA gowns. I was lucky to win an honorable mention for TWA Icy Fantasy winter photo contest in early 2013. You should consider joining TWA because every Sunday there is a new gown available, so in one year you could 52 free gowns. Anyway for my entry, I styled the Pearl of the Sea gown (group gift) with a Virtual Impression jewelry in aqua, Belleza Teal Flash skin and one of my new Truth hairs, Mariposa with butterflies, to highlight the wing detailing in the train. Two Moon Paradise new Fantasy Forest sim is gorgeous, filled with country paths, deers, butterflies, rivers, waterfalls, rain-kissed elven grove and scenic-nature that evokes the beauty of spring. It’s truly served as the perfect backdrop for photo shoots or quiet moments, you need to check it out.  I submitted the photo above but I had a hard time selecting between the two pics.

The White Armory Icy Fantasy Fashion Show

Icy Fantasy, The White Armory Fashion Show took place today, Saturday, January 19, 2013.  I was invited and I will serve as your roving reporter to all the snowy fun.  TWA is a wonderful fantasy role play store that specializes in Medieval, Renaissance, fairy gowns and vintage inspired wear.  We were treated to Piper Hanriot serving as our hostess, describing the gowns in details with historical reference. Piper is a blogger of note on SL, as well as a model, photographer and event organizer for The White Armory.  The snow filled venue was elegant, inviting and the music impeccably complemented the gowns. We were treated to luxe fantasy looks modeled by some top SL models. When the fashion show ended, the models donned their ice skates and show off their moves!

Contests galore!

I have been very busy lately entering a number of photo contest and I wanted to share them with you.

I entered the 2013 NeoVictoria Calendar contest in late December. The focus was to capture the spirit of the Steampunk sim and to create a photo that would correspond to a calendar month. I made it to the final 15 in-world public voting section. The votes are free and you can vote once per person. If you would like to check out the sim or other contestants (OR, if you are so inclined to vote for me, that would be greatly appreciated).  All photo’s are housed in the skymall photo studio. Voting ends January 16!

Honestly, I took so many shots that I had a hard time deciding which pic to select. Also, since we were allowed to submit two photo’s for different months, I wanted to created completely separate looks.  I scored at the Gizza 50% off after Christmas sale and got the stylish steampunk inspired burlesque number (above). My mind automatically jumps to the circus when I think turn of the century era and burlesque, so the circus tent at the NeoVictoria sim was the perfect backdrop to create the mood. Then to switch it up completely, I wanted a traditional Victorian lady gown. The colors in the Grim Bros Miss Tattily gown led me to a welcome home Christmas dinner theme.  Check it out (& vote), it’s a fun sim- always good to explores new venues!

Second, Too Sexy Magazine Cover Model Contest closes tonight. The winner will appear in the February issue of the Too Sexy Magazine with the theme of red or pink (and sexy)!    I styled myself in heart printed lingerie and a love fascinator! Keep your eyes open for other model contest from this magazine.

Third, the Headshots in Second Life January theme was blindfold.  I normally don’t frequent the darkside, but I thought Blinded by Love would be a different spin on the entries so far.  This contest closes at the end of the month with online voting deciding the winner via flickr.

Last, The White Armory Winter Photo Contest closes tomorrow with the theme of Icy Fanasty.  My dear friend, Kali introduced me to this store (thank you sugar).  The Dare to Dream fairy costume is highlighted in this mystical world.

I very happy to share my information about contests, HOWEVER please do not copy my ideas or themes. I recently had someone directly steal a photo concept and had the nerve to post the picture 12 hours after I posted mine.  I understand Second Life is the wild west, but there is still intellectual integrity, and plagarism is plagarism.
