Next in the series of homes I previously designed in 2016 but never had time to share with you is Niki’s Art Studio. As you know, Niki is my former design/business partner and sim owner. She is an artist (painter & photographer) in her first life and has always wanted her own studio in Second Life. I found this awesome shed by Hideki and Niki designed an eclectic industrial warehouse space with a lounge area displaying photography and sketches in the front room. 
And in the back is Niki’s disheveled workspace with multiple ‘works in progress,’ spilt paint cans, neon signs, ladders and great natural light. Niki’s studio has a funky creative vibe perfect for the artist-in-residence. Once again, big shout out thank you goes to Kirra Frantic who took time to capture our designs. Beach Day
The phone was ringing off the hook this morning. I dragged myself out of bed and reluctantly answered. It was real life calling to inform me to get up, go outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. “I can’t, I have too much to do,” I said, but real life wasn’t hearing of it. So I surrendered, packed the Mustang, put the top down and headed over the hill to Half Moon Bay, CA (USA). Wow, the beach was gorgeous. The puffy white Cumulus clouds caressed the ocean, the sand rippled under my toes and the squeals of joy from young treasure hunters blanketed the shore. It was a great day at the beach; I rushed home to recreate the experience in Second Life.
Luckily for me the Perfect Ten event opens tomorrow, June 1st -15th and Tylar’s Treasures has the ideal beachcomber collection on sale for 50% off. One can’t go to the beach without a towel, so I hurried over to [free bird] and picked up the Day At The Beach Towel Rack (**free** for all group members, ends TONIGHT). Finally, I had to reproduce the children’s thrill at finding buried treasures. Little Llama created the Oh-FISH-ally Summer Set (kids beach chair, treasure cooler and sandcastle kit) for The Challenge May theme: Holiday/Beach. I loved creating the exterior seaside styling and was inspired to design a coastal chic interior; upcoming post featuring more items from the Perfect Ten event and The Challenge. Holiday Open House Tour!
Happy Holidays! I hope you had a wonderful celebration and were surrounded by love, laughter, family and friends. We, at Hidden Gems in Second Life, wish you a wonderful New Year!
My design partner, Niki Silverweb and I are opening the doors to our personal homes for the last Interior & Spaces Open House of 2014 from December 30, 2014 to January 6, 2015 (SLT midnight). We created two charming holiday homes that showcase some of the fabulous Christmas tree designs and holiday decor offered on Second Life. We were a little late this year because we both ended up with the flu, but we wanted to take this opportunity to invite you on a self-guided tour to enjoy our take on this festive season. It’s never too early to plan for holiday 2015!
Our main home is the Scarlet Creative Lavender Brown house which features a master bedroom suite, dazzling entry hall reception area with mobile snowflakes hanging from the ceiling, a hall of trees inspired by real life traditions, a tartan plaid formal living room, and a fun-filled family dining room with kid’s table. Nestled in the hillside forest is our guest quarters also designed by Scarlet Creative. The Princess Jezibell Snug is a two-story cabin with a rustic eclectic vibe complete with a downstairs great room and an upstairs bedroom retreat with sleeping area for four or more.
We brought the holiday entertainment outside with hillside sledding, skating, hiking and a quiet spot among the hanging lanterns in the Barnesworth Anubis Filigree gazebo. While exploring the great outdoors, you will encounter sheep, rabbits, deer, weasels, and penguins dotting the property. We hope you enjoy the open houses and are inspired by our vision!

Bask in the Glow of Autumn
The waning days of autumn are upon us and for Americans, Thanksgiving is 12 days away. The grocery stores are filling up with families buying turkey and all the fixings, soon the malls will have hurried shoppers busting down the black Friday doors, and before we know it Christmas and the New Year will be here. Now is the time to slow down, reflect on the past year, be thankful for friends and family, and celebrate your blessings. Recently, I did just that, after a few unfortunate incidents, I had too much and needed to walk away from Second Life. I was drained, discouraged, disappointed, and deflated. This Thanksgiving, I’m grateful to Niki Silverweb, Ayla Zhoy and Morgan Mickalobe who supported and encouraged me to return to SL. Your kindness, care and friendship mean the world to me. So this Thanksgiving who are your thankful for?
My love for virtual interior design was calling out and I wanted to design an autumnal cottage with a large veranda located by a lake with views of apple orchards and snow-capped mountains. I envisioned Lake Tahoe, CA in the early fall when the weather is wonderful, the air is crisp but not too chilly cold, the nights are still, and the trees are bare with views of clear skies, filled with stars and full moons. The ivy covered porch is overflowing with cozy spots, delicious delights, unexpected guests, and nods to the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. Creating a warm, welcoming, inviting place with crackling fire from the hearth is sure to be the area where your guests will relax after the harvest feast!
