Spring Getaway!

Happy First Day of Spring!

It’s often said the kitchen is the heart of the home.  As some of my SL friends know, I also say right before logging off, ‘oh look at the time…..time for me to burn something.’  All kidding aside, I can cook.  I haven’t burnt the house down yet, or met my future firefighter husband.  My mom always threatens to send me off to the Food Networks Worst Cooks in America, lol.  But my one saving grace is, when my grandmother was still alive, I would make a mean roasted chicken ever Sunday night.  So, if there is anyone out there that can eat roasted chicken 365 days a year, then I’m your girl (I might manage to bake a cookie or two, once in a blue moon).

I’ve always wanted to create a cute shabby chic kitchen in Second Life and Thaino Designs released Clara, the perfect one.  Just in time for spring, in a bright and cheerful fuchsia, lime and turquoise with polka dots and an English rose print, this is a shabby chic girls dream kitchen.  It’s simply adorable!!!

The main kitchen unit includes a rose printed tiled kitchen stove, farmhouse sink, sideboards, upper cabinets, wine rack, microwave unit, island, and china cabinet with matching plates.  All items are sold separately, so if you want to mix and match your current kitchen with a cute shabby chic cabinet or china breakfront, then you have options.  Also, for kitchens pieces, these are a steal.  Thaihiti Baroque, creator extraordinaire of Thaino Design even made matching cupcakes, floral print tea kettle & baking scale, hot pink Kitchen Aid mixer, dish rack, fruit bowl, flowers and coffee/tea/hot cider/hot cocoa.  Everything is available at Thaino Designs, I only added the Apple Fall Azure Refrigerator and some coordinating curtains (took me some time to find just the right texture).  This new release kitchen unit is available at Thaino Designs main store, hop over and pick it up for a fresh cheerful spring look.  Taxi please…

The Collage | Adorable Charm

When I think of charming shabby chic furniture items, my first thought is always Thaino Designs!  And, Thaihiti Baroque of Thaino Designs has delivered again with the most adorable Gypsy Caravan set available at The Collage! (Sorry for my delay is posting the Gypsy Caravan set, I have the flu and everything is a bit fuzzy.)  The Collage is a home and garden shopping event that opened on February 23rd and will close on March 5, 2014, so hurry over to grab this charming spring set! (After the event is over, items will be available at Thaino store).

The Thaino Design Shabby Caravan set features a floral hand-painted caravan, plant rack, owl painted lawn chairs, tables and tea set, decorative candles snuggled in floral printed drawers and tea cups, flowers in tea pots, window boxes, trellis, clothes line, and a dreamy windmill.  I created a small village setting with two additional shabby chic cottages and some corresponding Thaino Designs floor stools and pouffes (from Jan/Feb round of The Collage).  Ms. Baroque recently has added a gatcha machine at her main store, and you can win fun & flirty Pink Punk Princess skull pieces.  I decorated the pink cottage with the Thaino Skullz sideboard and floor stool.  Each gatcha pull cost $50L and the pieces are an adorable clever addition to your home.  Always good to have a few furniture pieces (or two) that are a bit unexpected, it makes a house a home with personality.  I also used shutter field‘s clever path signs (available at the current round of The Collage).  Taxi please…

Welcome Home!

The Collage new round opens tomorrow, Thursday, January 23rd with lovely home decor pieces perfect for Valentine’s Day!  Eight selected design came together for this special monthly home event that last for 2 weeks offering exclusive creations.  Thaino Designs, Shutter Field, Spargel & Shine Homes, Dreamscapes Art Gallery, PRIME, Sway’s, Bauwerk and Dew Me Designs showed different and unique interpretations of Valentine decor including:  a Victorian romance bedroom set, colorful shabby-chic floral great room furnishings, cozy porch benches, sexy modern living room and a hidden garden for romantic dinners and dancing with your Valentine.  The Collage is a monthly home event with top Second Life interior designers showcasing their creations for  two-weeks starting on the 23rd of each month.  This is a wonderful event that I highly recommend you check out!  Let’s get decorating!

The current round of The Collage has so many great items, enough to fill a whole house!  So, with great joy, I finally had a good excuse to rezzed my Trompe Loeil Willoughby Lakeside Cottage (December round of C88) and started to decorate my Valentine themed home!  As most of you know, I adore Valentine’s Day and love to decorate my SL homes to reflect the different seasons.  Please join me on my open house tour!

Moving into the great room area, we see our love has cooked a romantic dinner for two with chocolate cake!  The matching hand painted rose table, sideboard and desk is sweet and enchanting.  The attention to detail Thaihiti Baroque of Thaino Design puts into her endearing creations is wonderful.  (Quick side-note: If you are a lover of vintage or shabby-chic furnishings then Thaino Designs is the store for you.  Not only will you fall in love with the charming items but the prices are great and Thaihiti designs homes as well to store all your finds!)  Notice the matching sideboard, complete with working doors and cabinets, the patchwork hearts wall display, the desk and tufted stool, who wouldn’t be inspired to write love letters while sipping champagne in this room!
