Happy February! My cousin Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow on Thursday and forecasted six more weeks of Winter. How is Phil my cousin you ask? Well, I’m born on groundhog day and I figure any dude that only appears once a year and sleeps the rest is a kindred spirit… (now you know why styling bedrooms is my fav). This birthday was very different from any other because my mom was not feeling well enough to partake and I went out to dinner with a dear girlfriend. We had a wonderful time and I got to laugh, act silly and just relax for a moment. As we painted the town red, Valentine’s Day theme permeated the air. With 10 days till cupid’s arrow hits you, I have a number of events, gifts and freebies to highlight in today’s blog.
First up, the Perfect Ten event runs from 2/1/17-2/15/17 and I’m so happy to be back blogging for The Cookie Jar merchants. It’s been an ongoing partnership since 2014 and as always the two-week event spotlights 10 home & garden designers with exclusive items half price or less. The jar of hearts is menu driven with the option to change the texture of the jar, ribbon, color of lights/hearts and glow level. The wooden heart marquee is super cool with the ability to change the text to spell up to three lines 8 letters each and change the color of everything.
I also used HJM Designs Love Heart Decoration (large red heart with rose on right wall), Tool Shed Tubey Heart Decor on windows and Park Place Home Decor The Two of Us purple floor rug and pillows, all items on the Love Me…Love Me Not hunt until 2/28/17. To finish off the styling, I used Sway’s Ahara Wicker Chairs and Button Floor Lamps (past FLF), Half Deer Fairylight Balloons and What Next Amelie Tall Chest of Drawers, both Fifty Linden Friday items for 2/3. Lastly, you can’t celebrate Valentine’s Day without chocolate; StoraxTree has a nice red heart box for free on the Where’s Cupid Hunt available until 2/14/17.

Hello Again!
Greeting readers and friends! It’s been far too long since I’ve blogged, in fact it’s been 9 months. No, I don’t have a new bundle of joy to share with you. So where have you been, you ask? Well, back in April my Mom had a stroke and it devastated me to my core. She is paralyzed on her left side, bedridden and recently suffered violent seizures. I quit my job, put grad school on hold and assumed the role as her full-time caregiver. As soon as it happened, I wrote a letter to my clients, sponsors and friends, as well as posted it on my Facebook page. At the time I wasn’t sure how long our journey would be or if I would ever return to Second Life and blogging. Well, I have yet to step my toe back into SL but I did want to share with you some pictures my dear friend Kirra Frantic took (back in April 2016) of my homes.
First, in the trio series is my version of a guy’s lakeside hangout chill zone. A few years back (Fall 2014) my dearest friend & former design partner, Niki and I joined forces to host our first ever open house, His & Her. My style has always been sweet and girly whereas Niki’s is more masculine and industrial. Ever since that initial venture I’ve try to design one male focused space a year. The man cave cabin is a sports lover dream with a game area, baseball memorabilia, vintage vinyl and a cool loft bedroom. First, a big congrats goes to the team behind the SL Home & Garden Expo 2016 who raised $4,010,116L for Relay for Life of Second Life, benefitting the American Cancer Society. Second, a warm thank you to all my readers who supported the cause. The RFL-SL fundraising season continues with the 10th Anniversary Fashion for Life from March 6th-20th. This year the offerings are vast on nine sims with daily entertainment, fashion shows, $10L hunt, live auction and photo contest, all details here. This coming Thursday will be St. Patrick’s Day and I’ve always marked the occasion with a holiday themed blog post. As I was looking through past entries, I noticed I’ve never featured outdoor decor. Today’s scene was created with Brook Hill Living, Park Place, Tylar’s Treasures, Serenity Styles, Sway’s, What Next and Chez Moi. I’m very excited to share with you a new home builder, Brook Hill Living who recently released the Waterfront Barn last week and the Chilmark House at the Expo. The Waterfront Barn is available in two version, shabby or posh with four dock options, two gazebos, and an open floor plan, available on the marketplace or in-world store.
Park Place Home Decor is currently participating in two monthly shopping events; Swank and Gacha Good. Finally, I added hints of shamrock decor with Free Bird horseshoe wall plank (free group gift), free lanterns I picked up at Swank Luck of the Irish event, and the lucky clover plant stand hunt gift from The Artist Shed (Poppin’ Penguin Hunts 3/1-31/16).
