Happy February!  My cousin Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow on Thursday and forecasted six more weeks of Winter.  How is Phil my cousin you ask?  Well, I’m born on groundhog day and I figure any dude that only appears once a year and sleeps the rest is a kindred spirit… (now you know why styling bedrooms is my fav).  This birthday was very different from any other because my mom was not feeling well enough to partake and I went out to dinner with a dear girlfriend. We had a wonderful time and I got to laugh, act silly and just relax for a moment.  As we painted the town red, Valentine’s Day theme permeated the air.  With 10 days till cupid’s arrow hits you, I have a number of events, gifts and freebies to highlight in today’s blog.valentines-day-red-purple-passionFirst up, the Perfect Ten event runs from 2/1/17-2/15/17 and I’m so happy to be back blogging for The Cookie Jar merchants.  It’s been an ongoing partnership since 2014 and as always the two-week event spotlights 10 home & garden designers with exclusive items half price or less. Above, I used HJM Designs Heart Decor Hanger on the windows, Adorably Strange Wares Flora Amour Ladder Decor & Hipster Celebration Table (3 tier cake on milk can), and Lunar Seasonal Designs Heart Jar of Lights & Shabby Chic Wooden Heart Marquee Sign.  The jar of hearts is menu driven with the option to change the texture of the jar, ribbon, color of lights/hearts and glow level.  The wooden heart marquee is super cool with the ability to change the text to spell up to three lines 8 letters each and change the color of everything.love-me-love-me-not-huntI also used HJM Designs Love Heart Decoration (large red heart with rose on right wall), Tool Shed Tubey Heart Decor on windows and Park Place Home Decor The Two of Us purple floor rug and pillows, all items on the Love Me…Love Me Not hunt until 2/28/17.  To finish off the styling, I used Sway’s Ahara Wicker Chairs and Button Floor Lamps (past FLF), Half Deer Fairylight Balloons and What Next Amelie Tall Chest of Drawers, both Fifty Linden Friday items for 2/3.  Lastly, you can’t celebrate Valentine’s Day without chocolate; StoraxTree has a nice red heart box for free on the Where’s Cupid Hunt available until 2/14/17.love-me-love-me-not-hunt-go-frock-yourself-nailsAnd ladies, while shopping for Valentine’s Day decor, don’t forget to style a little something for you too!  Glory’s looking a bit sexy this morning wearing Wicked Jennifer Blouse with Bra, Georg Bellic Design Loves me Skirt Black Big Hearts {both top and skirt fit classic and mesh avi’s} and Go Frock Yourself Heart Balloon Slink nails, all on the Love Me…Love Me Not Hunt (till 2/18).  Her hair is Clawtooth Up and Away and Reign Pattern Pumps for mesh appliers (both 2/3 FLF).  Last but not least, Chop Zuey is offering the Love Knot set for the Fabulously Free in SL group (free to join), so now you’re ready for Amore!

go-flock-yourself-hearts-outfitGacha Good The Best is Yet to Come event is still running until 2/15/17 and today I wanted to spotlight the Go Frock Yourself Heart on a String outfit.  The exclusive outfit for the event is a red knit deep V-neck tunic with printed interlocking ribbon hearts and black ankle length pants. A Frozen Christmas - The SL Christmas Expo 2015The fifth annual Second Life Christmas Expo will run from December 3 to 14, 2015 and is a mega event that raises funds for Relay For Life of Second Life (RFL of SL).  100% of registration fees, sponsorship fees, kiosk donations, hunt, raffle, auction, and vendor donation items are paid to Relay For Life of Second Life.  Relay For Life of Second Life is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society and is a virtual version of The Society’s signature real life fundraiser – Relay For Life.  You can find more information about RFL of SL here: http://relayforlifeofsecondlife.org/ .

The 2015 Second Life Christmas Expo will consist of both holiday and non holiday items from some of the best creators and designers in Second Life, spread across 8 sims!  The Expo will feature special events, including live performances, djs, skating parties, a Snowman Building Contest, Hunt For the Bells, Naughty Or Nice, a Christmas Tree Lot, holiday raffles and gotchas, and of course photos with Santa! The Holiday Of Hope Ball, for the 5th year running, will be held at the Christmas Expo.  And returning to the Christmas Expo as a special event this year is the Avi Choice Fashion Awards.

Whimsical Happenings Lopsi TreeSince there are so many activities happening within the Expo, I wanted to highlight a few in today’s post.  My dear friend, the jolly elf Earth Nirvana of Whimsical Happenings is participating in the Christmas Tree Lot with an exclusive festive and spirited upside-down garden pot tree complete with presents under the tree.  The Lopsi Tree is a modern, unique and whimsical approach to Christmas Tree!  100% of the proceeds of the sale is donated to Relay for Life of Second Life, check it out.

SL Xmas Expo- Oceane Make-up, ZOZ slink nails & Wreath RingAnother fun event at the Expo is the Hunt for the Bells ’15, a $10L hunt with 100% donated to The American Cancer Society.  This year there is a photo contest (12/5-12/15) for the Hunt for the Bells hunt, with a grand prize of $10,000L giftcard with other prizes for runners-up.  To enter you must use at least 10 hunt items, submit a NC listing the items to Earth Nirvana and send full perm picture to Leala Spire for voting & social media placement.  Please keep the picture PG & tasteful.  Good luck!  In my photos above I’m using Spyfalle Holiday Party Paper Lanterns in the windows from the Hunt for the Bells (hint: “let it go”).

SL Xmas Expo 2015- Sage Noel Sweater Dress & Oceane Make-upSo many creators have designed 100% RFL donation items including the Sage Nice or Naughty Sweater dress (pic #1 & 2) available for males & females.  Sage has also created the exclusive Noel Sweater Dress (pic #3) for 50% donation available in a variety of colors.  Gloria is wearing Oceane Body Designs Pretty 1 pack eye make-up and lip color also a 100% to RFL.  Finally, the Cookies for Santa green snowflake draped table  is from Outside the Box, with 50% donation to American Cancer Society.  The SL Christmas Expo offers daily live entertainment, tons of events, hunts, freebies, exclusives all for a great cause.  You have until December 14th to stop by and explore all the wonders of the season!

The Wayward Hunt 2015 (Interior)

Hello again!  It’s been awhile since my last post, sorry real life grabbed me and wouldn’t let go.  As soon as I heard about all the freebies on the Wayward Hunt (4/17-5/1), I couldn’t wait to share them with you.  I styled a corner of my Scarlet Creative Hudson Townhouse in a fresh spring bohemian vibe complete with piano, hanging wall drape, painted bench, easels, and cookies :-).  I’m decked out in VinCue striped maxi dress, beachy wave Soonsiki hair and whimsical Moon Amore Traveler Necklace.  Over 100+ stores are participating in the hunt, so check out the prize page, I’m sure you’ll find something you’ll love.  Happy hunting and hurry the hunts ends May 1!

POE7 Hunt | Alway Design Dress (Headshot)

Happy day after Black Friday, the kick-off for holiday shopping.   I use to be one of those people who got all her shopping done early, but lately I’ve noticed that retailers don’t have the best buys on sweaters in April (why not :-)?  What I love about Second Life is you can get all your shopping done early and are prepared for any last-minute party invites.  This year, I’ve created a whimsical holiday storage area using mostly Serenity Style items where I keep all my toys, but today I discovered they got loose and came to life.  As you can tell, I was a bit miffed but kept my cool while wearing the Peace One Earth 7 Hunt items from Always Design, GDit Jewelry, Exquisite Jewellery, Dellybeams Gem Gallery, and ZOZ Slink Nails.  Have fun on the POE hunt and check out the numerous events Serenity Style is participating in this month.
