Ravenshire Halloween Village

Just a few hours left for the 7th Annual Second Life Home & Garden Expo 2014 and harvest time is here! Since, October is coming up soon, and as my loyal readers & friends know I LOVE Halloween, so I couldn’t resist creating a beau-boo Victorian Trick or Treat village using Roawenwood Ravenshire Village Shoppes available at HGE. There are three different shops offered for sale at the expo: a single with side porch, a double with two individual rooms, and a grande with three connected rooms. Roawenwood is also offering a village fountain, patio pavers, and hay bales (Sim 3).  Halloween decor is furnished by Finishing Touches, Thaino Designs, Park Place, Sway’s, What Next, and Aphrodite Shop, I will showcase the items and where to purchased them in my upcoming blog post.  Coming this week, I will host an open house at the Halloween Village featuring some of my favorite designers on the grid.  Stop by, check out each decorated room, trick or treat among ghosts and witches, bring your little ones, nothing scary, all sweet. A Stately Manor

Only 2 more days for the 7th Annual Second Life Home & Garden Expo 2014!

Today, I have a very special treat for you, a French Provincial Manor Home, Maison d’Ete by Tess Spargel of Spargel & Shines Homes.  I’ve had the wonderful fortune to work with Ms. Spargel a number of times in the past and at each opportunity I’m blown away by Tess’s incredible attention to detail, fine finishing and quality of design.  All items are copyable.  Spargel & Shine Homes point of view is antique ‘super chic.’  Elegance and refinement define this special designer, whether a home, a store build, or gorgeous furniture.  The Maison d’Ete house is a stately three-story white plaster facade with iron balconies, window boxes, and a grand wrap around terrace.  Two stories come with their own working fireplace, a main control system for the door & window openings, and window treatments.  The drapes consist of sheers, powder blue satin pull backs, or bare. The main floor has numerous working doors that open to the terrace.  Inside the grand manor you are greeted with a stunning staircase and a tiled great room with ample space for generous seating areas.   The powder blue walls are offset by gilded gold paneling.   The home is truly exquisite, inviting and livable.  For the SL Home & Garden Expo Tess released the E’te Dining Set* (table & chairs with rezzable food, wine & lace table-cloth) and E’te Decor Set* (paintings, rug, urns, mirror, and candelabra), all donation items on Sim 6.

In this space, I created a music room using Kaerri Garden Piano* (Sim 8), Steaming Ahead Victorian Garden Bench (Sim 4), and Organica Belvedere Leather (Sim 6) seating area, adding a modern and whimsical nod to the formal elegant home.  In separate areas of the grand room are small places to rest, relax, talk and enjoy the music.  A tasteful and charming home filled with a touch of class!

Autumn Shadows

As the first days of Autumn are upon us, the air is turning chilly and soon it will be the holidays.  DeAnn Dufaux, designer of Park Place Home Decor (Sim 6), is offering an ideal collection, Autumn Shadows Dining for upcoming celebrations and family dinners.  Both the Autumn Shadows Dining Room table & chair set, and the China Cabinet with accessories are donation items benefitting Relay for Life of Second Life American Cancer Society.  The Autumn Shadows Dining Table & Chair set includes a mahogany round table, 4 armchairs with golden lavender cushions, sage green leaf rug, and Frank Lloyd Wright inspired stained glass hanging ceiling chandeliers.  The Autumn Shadows Dining China Cabinet with accessories and matching mahogany buffet table consists of corresponding stained glass working cabinets filled with display china and open/close drawers.  There is also a faux window to the set, not shown.  The buffet table has stained glass inlay and operating drawers, art deco style working lamps, framed leaf art and a pumpkin display (not shown).  An elegant and formal collection perfect for the your entertaining needs.  Taxi please…

Sunday at Grandma’s House

Where Dreams are Made!

When I was a young girl, my Mom converted her glass greenhouse into a garden playhouse for me.  Nestled among the roses and butterfly bushes, I had this magical dreamy world all my own where I could play dress-up, draw, read, or just hang out with my friends.  It was the best! Somehow all my dollies, stuffies and cookie tins ended up under the sofa.  My great-aunt’s old furniture would be repurposed after some sanding and a new coat of paint. Looking back now, I can see my love for shabby chic was forged in my little playhouse. Decorating for children always allows for a playful, whimsical side of my personality to shine.
