Pumpkin Spice

Autumn Glow

I adore fall, it’s my favorite time of the year to decorate.  From the glorious colors, to the fresh crisp smell in the air, and the yummy baked goods, it’s simply divine.  It’s easy to be inspired by this magical season and design a warm cozy retreat.  Today, I’ve created an autumnal living space using tons of free hunts items from The Seasons Story 2nd Anniversary, Chez Moi Spooky Hunt, and The Photographers Hunt $5L (all ending October 31, 2015).  I also included Sway’s Victor Wood Burning Stove & Storage Bench both deeply discounted 50%- 75% off for the Mix Event also ending October 31st.  Lastly, Sway’s Erika Set in Harvest (available @ Uber, ending today 10/23/15) was the ideal living room collection to use, bringing all the colors of fall into the space. A Fresh Spin on Fall!

Are you craving a fresh spin on Fall decor?  Think softer, light palettes with metallic gold embellishment as your statement piece.  It’s about changing people’s perspective of what’s expected.  Use muted salmon instead of orange, beige replaces chocolate-brown and pale olive sage for rich forest green.  These tones work perfectly right now where in some parts of the country the weather is warm.   Accent with a few lighter shade pumpkins, neutral leaves and barrels of apples.  Look for this unexpected trend to last through winter with creams, ivories and whites dominating the color scheme.

Living in Serenity Style!

I am one of those interior designers who have multiple projects going at the same time.  I get an idea in my head and start playing around with it in-world.  Most of my concurrent assignments are about 50-75% done, so a few weeks ago I challenged myself to finish them before Fall starts.  I’m very happy to share with you my take on a one-room, multiple-use country home, perfect as a mini summer retreat, designed exclusively with Serenity Style.  Over the course of the week, I will post a series of blogs highlighting each area of the house.

Castaway Island…

A new round of The Challenge has started with the theme Castaway.  For the July round seven designers have created beachy sun-bleached weathered decor items available at their main stores.  Both Kuro and Shutter Field items are discounted for the month of July.  In the scene above I’m featuring Kuro Easy Breeze shack with 6 single and 10 couple animations on sale for 25% off.  Also on display is Hate This Castaway Campfire with on/off touch for smoke and sound on the campfire, and 17 single and 14 couple poses on the hollow log.  Lastly, Shutter Field has created two releases for the themed monthly shopping event both 30% off during July.  In the foreground of the picture is the Castaway Bed and Lantern with 16 single and 8 couple sits and wearable props.  Completing the Castaway collection is the Outhouse Set featuring a twig makeshift bathroom with toilet paper, shovel and buckets.  There are several other designer who have created pieces for The Challenge, so check out the website and Let’s Get Decorating!
