Pumpkin Spice

Pumpkin Spice- Tylar's Treasures Fireside LRIn just a few weeks it will be the American holiday Thanksgiving where families and friends gather to enjoy a feast, football and gratitude for all they have.  Today, I’ve styled living space using Tylar’s Treasures Firelight Collection deeply discounted 50% off at Perfect Ten event until tomorrow, Sunday, November 15, 2015.  The collection includes black leather tufted armchairs, black wooden coffee table complete with pumpkin bowl display and brown marble fireplace with mirror and decorative accessories.  This grouping is a nice accompany to a larger set or perfect on its own.  I paired the Firelight set with The Artist Shed La Chaise de Citrouille, a $1L gift on the Stuff The Bird hunt (11/1-30/15).  I’m also playing caught up on a few rounds of The Challenge I’ve missed including Hanging Hanky Lights by Chiana Oh (Fabric Sept round) and Sputnik Light from %Percent Furniture (Victorian Nov round).  Sway’s is offering the Victoria Hanging Lamps at Fantasy Gacha Carnival (until 12/6/15) and Darret Stone Fireplace Set {using Fire Poker only} at The Liaison Collaborative (till 11/30/15).  Helping to create the cozy and warm space is Sway’s Kaden Rugs (past FLF item).  Finally, The Mustard Seed’s Golden Autumn Decor Set which consist of the tree of life table, bowl of pumpkins, acorn doll and 4 golden concept frame wall art enhance the autumnal room.  Hope you enjoyed my pumpkin spice living space and take advantage of the great deals on the grid.  If we don’t meet again till before Turkey Day, I wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Sunday at Grandma’s House

Rustic Shabby Chic Grandma Cottage

I mentioned previously that the SL Home & Garden Expo 2014 offers anything and everything you would want for your home, store, or land, even a perfect living room collection from Potomac Signature Homes that reminds me of a Sunday visit to Grandma’s house.  There was always a pot of tea brewing, homemade sweet treats tray, and fresh cut roses.  On cold days, a blazing fire took the chill from the room as we watched the leaves change into glorious colors during the autumn season.  Grandma’s home was warm and welcoming with antique treasured collections from her world travels.  I tried to channel my Grandmother’s rustic shabby chic home with SL Home & Garden Expo 2014 exclusives using Potomac Signature Homes Ivy Lane Living Room Set, Spargel & Shine Homes Antique Rug Peach Floral* & Woman with Bouquet of Roses painting, Weekend Salvage Home & Garden Writer’s Desk & Chair (Stars)*, Cleo Design Wrought Iron Garden Set & %Percent Jane’s Friends Room Divider (White/Silver)*. If you love the feeling of a cozy inviting cottage and a visit to yesteryear, do yourself a favor and get shopping at the Home & Garden Expo!

The 7th Annual Home & Garden Expo 2014 opened Tuesday, September 16 and will run until September 28, 2014, featuring over 80 creators on 9 sims.  Home and Garden Expo (HGE) raises money for Relay For Life of Second Life (RFL of SL).  Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature fundraising event, and RFL of SL is one of its virtual counterparts. You can get more information about RFL of SL here: http://relayforlifeofsecondlife.org/.

Military Might

Army- view from fireplace

A new round of The Challenge opened with the theme Army Style.  A group of talented designers are offering exclusive items with their own take on the theme.  As an American, I think the Army Style theme is perfect to represent and pay tribute to our great country and the bravery of the soldiers who fight for our freedom every day.  Members of my family and friends have served and not wanting to discriminate against the other military branches, I styled the barracks with an Air Forces mini plane (for my uncle), an US Navy Flag (for my grandfather), and Army camouflage chairs (for my Godfather).  The structure of the barracks is Trompe Loeil Chatham Skybox Dark and I created two separate living areas/ rest spot with a camouflage netting dividing the space.  The military furnishings have a masculine feel and could be easily used for a dorm room, office, or man cave!  To see all the designers offers and links, please click here.
