Emerald Isle!

First, a big congrats goes to the team behind the SL Home & Garden Expo 2016 who raised $4,010,116L for Relay for Life of Second Life, benefitting the American Cancer Society.  Second, a warm thank you to all my readers who supported the cause.  The RFL-SL fundraising season continues with the 10th Anniversary Fashion for Life from March 6th-20th.  This year the offerings are vast on nine sims with daily entertainment, fashion shows, $10L hunt, live auction and photo contest, all details here.  If I have some free time this week, I’ll try to showcase some of the items but in the meantime please check out my nearest and dearest friend, Rhiannon Colclough blog, Fashion is Fun!

This coming Thursday will be St. Patrick’s Day and I’ve always marked the occasion with a holiday themed blog post. As I was looking through past entries, I noticed I’ve never featured outdoor decor.  Today’s scene was created with Brook Hill Living, Park Place, Tylar’s Treasures, Serenity Styles, Sway’s, What Next and Chez Moi.  I’m very excited to share with you a new home builder, Brook Hill Living who recently released the Waterfront Barn last week and the Chilmark House at the Expo.  The Waterfront Barn is available in two version, shabby or posh with four dock options, two gazebos, and an open floor plan, available on the marketplace or in-world store.

Park Place Home Decor is currently participating in two monthly shopping events; Swank and Gacha Good.  The Gold Plaid rattan patio set and Garden Chair Planters (gacha item) are offered at Gacha Good until March 31, 2016. Standing in Solidarity

Very late last night/early this morning, I learned about the horrific terrorist attacks in Paris, France.  I’m in shock of this mass slaughter and carnage.  My deepest condolences go out to the families of the victims, the citizens of Paris and to all world citizens where intolerance and religious fanaticism has caused a climate of fear and hate.  Shortly after I read a few articles, my dear friend Lavinia Godenot from The Mustard Seed informed me that her store has gone dark and she has turned off all the vendors to show support for Paris and honor those who died, were injured and suffering.  The only item for sale at TMS is the I Love France set that is a free gift.  Lavinia’s message is so poignant, I urge you to show your support!  Ms. Godenet is the only Second Life merchant that I know who has chosen to not sell her products today, a day of remembrance.

The styling above includes TMS I Love France collection as well as Free Bird Bringing the Peace Stained Glass Suncatcher created to honor the victims of this hateful crime and free until 11/15/15.  I also included an empty chair to represent the hundreds of lost loved ones that are never coming home.

Lemonade Summer!

I’ve been trying to write this blog post for little over a week but real life kept getting in the way.  My plan was to highlight some Trompe Loeil Kiya beach shacks that were available at June Collabor88 and the interiors, unfortunately the new July round of C88 started yesterday.  Since I styled the beach shacks interiors and have photos, I would suggest if you like any previously released items from C88 hop over to the brands main store.  I also wanted to share a few more Perfect Ten discounted items from the July round, available July 1st-15th.

On the front deck of the Trompe Loeil Kiya beach hut is the adorable Dancing Pineapple from MishMish lounging on the Teebrook’s Cubbyhole Lemonade Summer Adirondack chair with umbrella and tray table, discounted item at Perfect Ten.  Yellow, ocean blue and touches of red is the color palette throughout the summer cabin.  The color trend in 2015 is blue and bridges all seasons with different tonalities.

Beach Day

The phone was ringing off the hook this morning.  I dragged myself out of bed and reluctantly answered.  It was real life calling to inform me to get up, go outside and enjoy the beautiful weather.  “I can’t, I have too much to do,” I said, but real life wasn’t hearing of it.  So I surrendered, packed the Mustang, put the top down and headed over the hill to Half Moon Bay, CA (USA).  Wow, the beach was gorgeous.  The puffy white Cumulus clouds caressed the ocean, the sand rippled under my toes and the squeals of joy from young treasure hunters blanketed the shore.  It was a great day at the beach; I rushed home to recreate the experience in Second Life.
