Heart Homes- La Bodega Set (Vineyard)

Aphrodite Shop and Heart Homes have paired up to bring you a taste of their country, Argentia.  The design duo are participating in The Multicultural Menu Event (June 1-21), a food fair where designers select a menu from 6 different global cuisine; Asian, European, Mediterranean, North American, South American, and South Pacific.  Marina Ramer (Aphrodite Shop) and Jaylin Whitewood (Heart Homes) are offering a number of new releases at the fair and they are located in the South American area (green on map below).

Heart Homes- La Bodega Set

When I first saw Aphrodite Shop/Heart Homes new releases, I was immediately drawn to the “La Bodega” set, wine barrels repurposed into chairs and a coffee table.  Old flashbacks of my childhood flooded in and I became nostalgic. Some of my first remembrances were at wineries in Napa, CA (USA), I recall playing in the vineyards, the harvest crush, the smell of oak barrels, great food, music and laughter.  Distance memories now but they gave me inspiration to create a vineyard and cellar room in SL.

Heart Homes “La Bodega” set includes 2 barrel chair {20 animations & props}, barrel coffee table, animated wine & cheese board, framed wine bottle wall art, and texture change cow hide rug {4 texture options}.  I also used Summer Wine fat pack.  The “Picadita Argentina” wine and cheese board can be purchased separately, all available at the Multicultural event.  Pop over to The Multicultural Menu Event and check out all the goodies!

I’m Not Your Toy Charity Event

I'm Not your Toy-Final

This week, June 17-23, 2013, kicks off the first annual I’m Not Your Toy Charity event to benefit and raise awareness of violence against women and children. 100% donations go to “Associaçao Projecto Criar.”

“I’m Not Your Toy” goal is to raise funds in SecondLife® for RL non-profit associations against child and woman abuse. With the help of SL® designers, models, bloggers and friends who are ready to give their time and talent with nothing to receive ONLY the happiness to know that together we can made a difference in someone life.

Founded by MUTYA [VM] VERO MODERO ELITE MODEL 2013 Lua Vendetta, felt it was important to choose a charity that benefited children. Lua Vendetta’s vision is for every child in foster and kinship care to feel safe and loved, and that these special kids are empowered to create security and connection through healthy self-expression. The charity achieves this through the provision of inspirational creative arts programs that help kids develop confidence and healthy self-expression.

On Monday, June 17th there was a fashion show and charity hunt.  Unfortunately, I crashed numerous times and wasn’t able to attend the whole show, but while at the event venue I picked up a few exclusive hunt items designed to benefit the I’m Not Your Toy charity.  Lua designed an exclusive free INYT pink tee for ladies (don’t worry gents, there is a male version as well).  I paired the tee with the INYT free shoulder Owl and tie-dyed hunt skirt (middle photo).  Ghee also created the coral summer short set (top right) and image factory constructed the “I’m Not Your Toy” picture frame (bottom left).  All hunts items are available the rest of the week. This is a wonderful cause and I urge you to donate.  Look forward to exclusive creations, hunts, auctions, designer walls, and other fashion shows, so pop over already and do your part. Taxi please…

Hats off!

Last night, Thursday, February 28, Two Moon Paradise hosted The Mad Hatter’s Ball.  I was tied up with real life and couldn’t attend.  I asked my BFF in RL & SL, Niki Silverweb to doll up, head over and get me some pics for my blog.  And, she did!  So, a huge THANK YOU, Niki!  I need to warn you, Niki has a thing for hats, so I tried to edit the slide show to feature  the decor, dancers and costumes.  Oh, and speaking about costumes, every Thursday night there is a theme costume contest, and (drumroll please), Niki won with another guest!  I’m so excited for her and rather proud of myself because Niki let me style her in this look for a Lewis Carroll party last month.  Truly spectacular decor Shiran and Argus! (And, thanks all for making my dear friend feel so welcome).  A great time is guaranteed, and the setting, decor and music is always superb, so head over to Two Moon for a fun time!

Let the good times roll!

Happy Mardi Gras all! In RL, I kicked off my celebration with some take out Chinese food and jasmine tea. But in SL, I lived it up! I was invited to a Mardi Gras formal affair, so I did a quick change from my feathers and beads only look, and donned a rather elegant Victorian gown in Mardi Gras colors: green, gold & purple. The Montagne Noire gown was part of the Bourbon Street hunt which ended today, Tuesday, February 12, 2013.  I copied the feather to wear as a hair attachment, added some extra beads to give the gown more oomph, and used an old mask I found in my inventory.  I had fun at Bogart’s Jazz Club dancing the samba to Latin music and enjoying the festive atmosphere (a slide show below highlights the fun). After I danced my feet till they were sore, I headed home to pop open another bottle of champagne and enjoy the evening with my date, Mr. Mardi Gras himself, Ted E. Beauregard. Ted E. was a hunt gift from Libby Holiday Store and the decorated console table was from Dreamscape Art Gallery.

I also had a few other Mardi Gras costumes that I got on the Bourbon Street hunt, I wanted to showcase. The next gown is from Felicia’s Fashion paired with a past hunt gift, a Fat Tuesday parasol and Bogart’s Mardi Gras beads.

For a fun and spirited night, Unforgettable Temptations corset does the trick. Do note, this garment can be tricky to get just right (Ted E. was a big help!) And, finally the Iron Tiger collar is just fab!

The White Armory Icy Fantasy Fashion Show

Icy Fantasy, The White Armory Fashion Show took place today, Saturday, January 19, 2013.  I was invited and I will serve as your roving reporter to all the snowy fun.  TWA is a wonderful fantasy role play store that specializes in Medieval, Renaissance, fairy gowns and vintage inspired wear.  We were treated to Piper Hanriot serving as our hostess, describing the gowns in details with historical reference. Piper is a blogger of note on SL, as well as a model, photographer and event organizer for The White Armory.  The snow filled venue was elegant, inviting and the music impeccably complemented the gowns. We were treated to luxe fantasy looks modeled by some top SL models. When the fashion show ended, the models donned their ice skates and show off their moves!
