East Meets West Open House

I am so excited to share with you Interior & Spaces first open house for 2015!  Interior & Spaces Home Design is a residential and commercial full service design firm (interior & exterior) established in 2014 by myself and design partner in crime Niki Silverweb.  This year Niki’s workload increased and I took over the reigns as CEO and head designer.  With strategic marketing and phenomenal exposure due to my Avi Choice nomination, my client list and projects exploded.  It’s rare now that Niki & I have the opportunity to work on a sim build together.  We would be honored to invite you to our East Meets West Open House from September 1st-4th!

Niki designed a striking luxurious Balinese tropical oasis fully submerged within the environment and raised it up on stilts with the sound of crashing waves in the distance.  The Trompe Loeil Seaside Cottage is a wooden clapboard one room structure with broad overhangs and open veranda.  For the sim build Niki added mature palm trees and rock walls to enclose the space.  The veranda welcomes the visitor to a gorgeous home with multiple seating around the fire pit, views of the ocean and mountain region, and umbrella drinks ready at the bar.  The one room cabana is divided into three separate areas: living room, dining room and bedroom suite.  The interior of this sophisticated, well-appointed home is contemporary with a strong color palette of aqua, orange, lime and kahului in the living room reflecting island living at it’s best with vaulted ceilings and fans.  Feast your eyes on all the tempting array of delicious delights presented before you on the buffet bar and dining table.  Moving from the main quarters we enter a serene bedroom suite in a neutral palette of white linen and carved wood furnishings.  In the bathroom area is a modern deep soaker tub.  Potted tropical plants and flowers accessorize the cabana.  Niki wanted to highlight Balinese decor with the guiding principles of nature, open areas, light and tropical luxury.

On the other side of the beach sim are three shacks all with different themes: Americana, Nautical and 80’s Neon Miami.  These beach shacks are typical of California coastal living, small interiors with large porches and back decks.  The Americana hut is decked out in Red, White & Blue, ready to celebrate with BBQ, picnic table and a smorgasbord of sweet treats.  Or maybe you prefer sipping lemonade and watching the sun set, then the Nautical hut is for you.  Complete with a bar, chill zone and tons of spots to relax.  Grab your Ray-Bans and acid-washed jeans, head over to the 80’s neon Miami hut for all your Fiesta Forever dreams.  This hut was designed with a colorful bedroom, party deck and watermelon themed front porch.  I enjoyed creating these three different spaces and there’s something for everyone, so head over and check them out!

Making an entrance!

They say you only have one chance to make a first impression.  The same applies to your home as it’s a reflection of your personality and style.  A great foyer serves a dual purpose, first function and then an inviting space to greet your guest.  I styled a ‘under the sea’ themed summer beach house highlighting a few key elements to make a greeting entry including: table/cabinet, mirror, chair, empty baskets for keys, newspaper or mail, baskets of pillows or blankets for the porch, potted plants, lighting, and some fun decorative accessories.  One could also add a collection of family photos or coat rack/umbrella stand.  Don’t over look the importance of the first impression of your home.

Celebrate America!

Happy July!  In just a few days the great nation of the United States of America will celebrate it’s independence with fireworks, backyard BBQ and pool parties.  I love the 4th of July and couldn’t let the holiday pass without styling three adorable beach shacks in red, white & blue!

Today, I will feature the red Trompe Loeil Kiya (available @ Collabor88) American shack decked out with Finishing Touches Patriotic Swags 2 Stars (Stripes/Stars/Stripes), Antique Hanging Stars, Patriotic Sling Chair (Stars & Stripes), Red Charcoal BBQ & Blue Metal Wheelbarrow Beer Cooler.  I’m ready for a 4th of July party and fireworks display.  Finishing Touches’s charcoal BBQ has multiple options for rezzable meats and grill-master poses for singles and couples.  The wheelbarrow beer cooler is dispensable.  24Karat Roux, creator and owner of Finishing Touches is offering the stars & stripes patriotic sling chairs as a subscriber gift until July 5, so hop over and grab them for the upcoming holiday.  July 1st also marks the opening day for the Perfect Ten event, running from 1st – 15th each month with deep discounts on exclusive items.  For the July round, Lunar Seasonal Designs created a fun animated Seagull eating french fries, the perfect deck mate!

Inside the Americana beach hut, I designed a sweet treat buffet table using The Mustard Seed Lighthouse Table.  Aphrodite Shop’s Fruit Kebabs Platter, Patriotic Cupcakes, Fruit Desserts Dispenser, and July 4th Ice Cream (part of the 4th of July dessert pack) are on display.  Flanking the sweet treat buffet bar are two HJM Designs Gingham Rattan Chairs in Blue & Red, I picked up at Perfect Ten.  To complete the patriotic theme decor, I used Finishing Touches Twig Wreath White (Star Studded), Americana Collection Hanging Quilt (Stars & Stripes), Patriotic Wooden Stars, and Americana Collection Stacked Boxes Patriotic Flag.

On the rear deck is where all the fun will happen.  From sun-lounging, to riding bikes in the sand dunes, or kicking back and relaxing with friends and family.  The final details make all the difference in a great party.   I just love Finishing Touches Picnic Table w/Sunbrella Blue, it has rezzable meals for each guest and matches the Red Charcoal BBQ & Blue Wheelbarrow Beer Cooler perfectly.  I hope you are inspired to show your patriotic spirit, celebrate this wonderful holiday and decorate your home in Red, White & Blue!   Wishing you a happy 4th of July!

Beach Day

The phone was ringing off the hook this morning.  I dragged myself out of bed and reluctantly answered.  It was real life calling to inform me to get up, go outside and enjoy the beautiful weather.  “I can’t, I have too much to do,” I said, but real life wasn’t hearing of it.  So I surrendered, packed the Mustang, put the top down and headed over the hill to Half Moon Bay, CA (USA).  Wow, the beach was gorgeous.  The puffy white Cumulus clouds caressed the ocean, the sand rippled under my toes and the squeals of joy from young treasure hunters blanketed the shore.  It was a great day at the beach; I rushed home to recreate the experience in Second Life.

Luckily for me the Perfect Ten event opens tomorrow, June 1st -15th and Tylar’s Treasures has the ideal beachcomber collection on sale for 50% off.  All items in the Sea Collection are sold separately and include: Adirondack chairs, pillars with ship wheel coffee table, ‘Sea’ oar wall art, dusty blue compass rug, sea barrel/crate, and pillar with seagull.  I headed over to The Mustard Seed and picked up the bronze flamingo welcome beach sign that’s on sale for $60L until Thursday, June 4, 2015.  Ms. Lavinia Godenot, owner of The Mustard Seed, gave me a sneak peek of her Day at the Beach Hunt prize (June 1 to 31), the magical beach buckets with twigs and seashells (2 versions: with or without twinkle lights).  One can’t go to the beach without a towel, so I hurried over to [free bird] and picked up the Day At The Beach Towel Rack (**free** for all group members, ends TONIGHT).  Finally, I had to reproduce the children’s thrill at finding buried treasures.  Little Llama created the Oh-FISH-ally Summer Set (kids beach chair, treasure cooler and sandcastle kit) for The Challenge May theme: Holiday/Beach.  I loved creating the exterior seaside styling and was inspired to design a coastal chic interior; upcoming post featuring more items from the Perfect Ten event and The Challenge.  Summer is almost here, so grab these beachy deals and Let’s Get Decorating!  

Nautical Chic!

As everyone heads to the beach this Labor Day weekend, I wanted to share with you my secluded Nautical Atlantic beach house, which will be open to the public from September 1 to Sunday, September 7, 2014 at 12pm SLT.  This is my first open house, so pop by, enjoy, and check out the build.

I loved the Scarlet Creative Atlantic Home offered at June Collabor88 and wanted to create a hidden beach hideaway that’s casual, yet chic.  I envisioned the beach home to serve as a family & friends entertainment center complete with a casually sophisticated dining room furnished with Trompe Loeil’s Darya Dining Room set, formal living space appointed with Floorplan’s Sailor collection, and a family room finished with Cleo Designs’ Nautical ensemble.  The heart of the home is always the kitchen which I placed in the middle of the beach shack complete with Scarlet Creative sink, stove, and Cheeky Pea Boat Wine Bar.  The entry hall greets guests with a welcome sign and bench; turn the corner and a small office with scenic view serves as creative inspiration.  Finally, the back of our casa functions as a ‘Anchors Away’ bedroom accessorized with maritime decor, boat oars, framed nautical art, model ship & lighthouse, and an over stuffed linen cabinet.  I loved designing our beach home and can’t wait to share it with you.   Grab a burger from the outside grill, build sandcastle dreams and ‘catch the waves.’  Late dinner is served at nightfall while stargazing.  So stop on by, be inspired and let’s get decorating!
