Spring At Last!

Spring has come to Second Life, or at least on my sim.  I logged in the other day and to my surprise the landlord had changed the winter forest scene to springtime.  It look a little odd with my snowy cabins and patches of ice against the fresh earth.  I’m really excited that I can finally use the Brook Hill Living Chilmark House I got last year, so it will take a moment for me to change the landscaping.  In the meantime, I styled a springtime garden setting using Tylar’s Treasures   Aurora in Spring and Watercolor Garden with Waterfall offered for 50% off at Perfect Ten Event (until 3/15/17).  The Aurora Arbor has a small fence to both side, trees, moss, and a stump with a bunny.  The poses include couple dances and cuddle with texture change pillows.  The Watercolor Garden has four small rocks with wildflower and fern bordering the pond.  I also included Bluebird Garden fence, the gift for the Into the Blue Hunt (3/1-3/29).  Other decor items are KeKe Refurbished Spring Drawers and Sari Sari Repurposed Cart from the February 2017 Deco(c)rate box.  Lastly, Gloria is wearing the Saffron Necklace (#6), Loretta Dress (#4) & Sandals (#5), gifts from Purple Moon Cherries on Top Hunt 6 (ending 2/28/17).  I love this hunt, I look forward to it every year, hopefully I can take some snaps of the other gifts.  Below is the hunt information.  Have a great evening!

1- This hunt is free and open to public (no group membership required)
2- The object you are looking for is a SLICE OF CAKE WITH A CHERRY ON TOP (like the sample located at the entrance)
3- To receive the gift, simple touch the cake. You will be given an object that can be worn to unpack.
4- The prizes have funny names, no Area Search allowed!
5- There are no hints given. They are on plain sight. Very easy to find and this is more for the fun of it than anything else.
6- The prizes have been hidden at the GROUND LEVEL of the MAIN STORE (9 of them). Not upstairs. There is one extra prize to be found at Wetcat Main Store The balloon decorations are an indicator that there are some cherry cakes hidden in that room!
7- It is MANDATORY to HAVE FUN!

Happy Wednesday!  I hope you had a good weekend.  I’m back today with more Valentine’s Day decor and fashion.  To highlight some of the hunt gifts on the Love Me…Love Me Not hunt until 2/28/17, I created a sweet and soft pretty in pink bedroom.  One of my favorite gifts on the hunt is Dreamscapes Art Gallery Love Ladder.  The ladder corresponds perfectly with Dreamscapes new release Jessir Chair in stripes with english rose printed blanket and matching heart ottoman.  Another great companion from Dreamscapes is the Love Frames, a gift on the Stupid Cupid Hunt (2/3-2/28).  To me Valentine’s Day always means roses and StoraxTree has a lovely Vintage Plant Stand Rose Bush Pink on the Love Me…Love Me Not hunt.   Another nice gift is Love You Suitcase, a fun pink teddy bear suitcase from Sickly Sweet.  To complete the styling of the feminine boudoir, I used Floorplan Swan Lake Score Print above the bed and Bow Chair at the bureau (both part of January 2017 Collabor88).  What Next Amelie Blanket Box and Picture Shelves (both past FLF) round out the floral pastel palette.  Lastly, I added Adorably Strange Wares Roseta Wreath to the mirrors behind the table lamp available for 50% off at Perfect Ten (till 2/15).As for some fashion, today I have an adorable lingerie set from Carrie’s Lingerie.  The Love Me pink with heart balconette-style bra with matching thong is a free gift on the Love Me…Love Me Not hunt.  The Love Me set is designed for classic avi’s (non-mesh) with an omega applier, I haven’t succumbed the temptation of mesh bodies yet.  If you ever want to know my skin or hair, just im me, I’m happy to share (I’m really bad at listing everything I use for fashion post).  In the above picture I’m wearing Lamb Dissolved Girl hair (previous group gift, still available for free). Another pretty in pink lingerie set is Blacklace Lady Almathea, the new group gift ($99L group fee).  Lady Almathea is a pink rose appliqué corset with panties that fits mesh and system avi’s. Make You Feel My Love

Happy February!  My cousin Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow on Thursday and forecasted six more weeks of Winter.  How is Phil my cousin you ask?  Well, I’m born on groundhog day and I figure any dude that only appears once a year and sleeps the rest is a kindred spirit… (now you know why styling bedrooms is my fav).  This birthday was very different from any other because my mom was not feeling well enough to partake and I went out to dinner with a dear girlfriend. We had a wonderful time and I got to laugh, act silly and just relax for a moment.  As we painted the town red, Valentine’s Day theme permeated the air.  With 10 days till cupid’s arrow hits you, I have a number of events, gifts and freebies to highlight in today’s blog.First up, the Perfect Ten event runs from 2/1/17-2/15/17 and I’m so happy to be back blogging for The Cookie Jar merchants.  It’s been an ongoing partnership since 2014 and as always the two-week event spotlights 10 home & garden designers with exclusive items half price or less. Winter White

Happy Tuesday!  Out here in Silicon Valley, we are having some bad weather with flash flood warning, thunder and lighting, and a snow forecast for the Santa Cruz Mountains.  I know I shouldn’t complain, but I’m worried about the creek behind my house overflowing.  Anyway, winter is still around and today I wanted to pay tribute to it featuring Tylar’s Treasures Celebrate Winter Decor collection available for sale at Color Me Happy Event until 2/6/17.  The collection includes a modern white wood and marble fireplace, white ottoman trunk with beige pillows, and three bare trees with twinkling lights and a “celebrate” mantle sign.  Color Me Happy is a small event highlighting new and upcoming designers.  This is their first event, so I’m not sure if it will be a recurring shopping experience.  I also wanted to highlight the Snowy Landscapes framed artwork above the fireplace from The Artist Shed, a free gift on the Winter Blows Hunt until 1/31/17.Another gift on the Winter Blows Hunt is Wynona by Prism, a white cable-knit turtle-neck sweater dress with black belt.  I love the detail knit on the dress with larger cable-knitting down the middle and small knit on the side and neckline.The last item I would like to showcase is Brook Hill Living Faun Chandelier available in Gold and Silver/Black at Shiny Shabby event until 2/15/17.  The Faun Chandelier is elegant, opulent and exquisitely detailed with glorious illumination…it’s a statement piece that makes the room.  In addition, all Brook Hill Living buildings are 50% off in January, both on the marketplace and in-world store.  Stay warm, dry and safe!

Merry & Bright!

Happy December!  I know it seems a bit strange to offer joyous holiday spirit 19 days or so into the month, but I was so preoccupied in sharing my older home design with you, I wasn’t sure if I would be able to carve out time to return to Second Life and style for the holidays.  Well, I just had too…the design bug bit me and with a few sleepless nights, I created a cute little ski chalet using What Next  Alpine Cabin.  Surprise, surprise…the cabin and most of the holiday decor from What Next is currently part of the 12 Days of Savings 50% off marketplace special (ends 12/25/16).  I think this is the first year What Next and other home designers are participating in the MP blowout.  Last year, I cleaned up on Truth Hair and Mandala Jewelry.

I love styling porches…the entryway needs to be inviting and cozy.  With multiple lanterns, benches and welcome mat, Santa is sure to stop here first.  I even left some hot cocoa and cookies on the ski lift for him!

Inside the one room cottage is a warm retreat with lots of seating, presents and stocking ready to be filled.  An overall Nordic Winter theme in red, cream and touches of green is felt throughout the room.  Lots of trees in every style are tucked in the corners and a sweet treat coffee bar displaying Brook Hill Living Finse Deer Tableware complete the Merry & Bright lodge!
