SL Home & Garden Expo 2016!

Happy March!  I hope you had a nice weekend.  In today’s post we are going to finish our house tour of Cloverleaf by Galland Homes offered at 50% off at the SL Home and Garden Expo 2016.  Yes, the Expo is still going strong; raising money to fund a cure for cancer, so be sure to check out all 10 sims (including the Breedable Fair) before Sunday, March 6, 2016.

The last rooms in the versatile Cloverleaf we haven’t checked out are the kitchen/dining room and back yard paved patio.  The kitchen is include in the purchase of the home and not linked, so you can swap out the fridge or stove for another design.  The corner unit kitchen has two facets with running water, six burner stove with operational doors, stainless steel refrigerator and island….the perfect breakfast bar area.  The island is animated with 14 animations and 10 poses.  The main kitchen includes 21 animations and 11 poses (PG couples poses included), various props are also included to help you prepare your favorite meals for you and your friends.  I accessorized with white plates, jugs and fresh-baked goodies.

On the large picture window alcove, I placed the Closer to the Heart Creations (Hope 6) 100% donation item Monochrome Dinette.  The dinette seats six guest on black and white polka dot upholstered chairs and rectangular black etched dining table with views of the garden.  Red gerbera daisy vase and black/white abstract rug are also included in the dinette set.

Give Thanks!

Happy Monday!  Just a few more days until T-bird arrives (Thanksgiving) and then it will be the push for all things Christmas.  Don’t get me wrong, I love Christmas as much as the next girl, but it’s too early!  Let’s celebrate the harvest, the bounty and the friendships.  So, in the tradition of sharing, today I invite you to my Thanksgiving table decked out with pumpkins, Indian corn and luminaries.  I especially loved Finishing Touches new harvest Indian Corn decor items, you need to check them out!  As most of my loyal readers know, my nickname is bedroom eyes because I enjoy styling boudoirs but my favorite thing to decorate in both worlds is creating tablescapes.  I probably own more plates, placemats, napkin rings and mini salt/pepper shakers than shoes!  A well styled table defines the dinner and sets the mood for the party.  I also wanted to showcase my kitchen, complete with a turkey feast!  I hope I can find some free time in my schedule to take additional snaps of my autumn bedrooms and outdoor decor.  Until then, wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!

A step back into time…

Just a few days till Halloween and I wanted to share with you one build I’ve been preoccupied with since spring.  I hoped to create the rolling hills of a French countryside wine region similar to Provence using Apple Fall’s rural farmhouse (rare) from the The Arcade March 2015 round.  Nestled in the hillside, the stucco two-story building with creeping ivy, clay tile roof, worn exterior shutters and double barn door has a vintage aged working farm atmosphere. Step outside to be greeted by vineyards, zig-zag rose-bush lined cobblestone path and a secret retreat garden shed. The converted garage barrel room has some of the best views of the lake and hillside.  Come join me on my journey, a step back into time.

The interior of the farmhouse is vintage shabby chic with a distinctive feminine feel with rose print chairs and rugs in the living room.  The first floor has an open layout concept with the dining area near the stairwell and the kitchen on the back wall, with views of the sunflower field out the kitchen window. Enticing baskets of fruit and baked goods are arranged on the pantry unit just in reach from the dining table.  The opening under the stairwell has bushels of fresh picked farm apples.  Although small, the kitchen has everything one needs with a vintage stove, butcher block counter tops, farmhouse sink and country stove.

As we move upstairs we are awash in royal blue and cream.  Two doll houses grace the window facing the rolling hillside, a cozy chair placed next to the dresser with an antique French perfume print which hangs above.  The inviting bed beckons us with a breakfast tray already made, the dressing area has a corresponding armoire with hat boxes placed on top and a rose detailed ladder for easy access.  Hope you enjoy the trip back in time!

Living in Serenity Style!

I am one of those interior designers who have multiple projects going at the same time.  I get an idea in my head and start playing around with it in-world.  Most of my concurrent assignments are about 50-75% done, so a few weeks ago I challenged myself to finish them before Fall starts.  I’m very happy to share with you my take on a one-room, multiple-use country home, perfect as a mini summer retreat, designed exclusively with Serenity Style.  Over the course of the week, I will post a series of blogs highlighting each area of the house.
