Tonight is the 4th Annual Holiday of Hope Ball, a Victorian Dickens formal ball, that benefits The American Cancer Society! The ball is from 4 to 8pm SLT and there will be raffles and door prizes ranging from 100L to 10,000L, with 20+ door prizes. The entertainment for this evening is a rather nice fellow I recently met, Trader Whiplash & Nuala Maracas. I’m very excited to attend this year’s ball and have enlisted a few good girlfriends to join me. Please come out this evening and participated in all the wonderful activites to support The American Cancer Society! Taxi…
I had a hard time trying to figure out what to wear tonight. I researched and goggled till my fingers fell off. Charles Dickens was born in England in 1812 and passed in 1870, penning over 15 novels, 5 novellas and hundreds of short stories, including A Christmas Carol and Great Expectations. The Civil War in American, 1861 to 1865, broke out in Southern and Notheastern United States. One of my favorite movies, Gone With the Wind, conveys the struggle of the war in the Antebellum South. It also showcased the lavish crinoline petticoat formal gowns of the elite Southern ladies. So, my gown this evening is a nod to my inner Southern Belle with a dash of Dickens English Victorian mimicking the popular Bertha Collar (aka off the shoulder lace trim) and large crinoline hoop skirts. I also fell in LOVE with the Purple Moon Relay for Life vendor special Royal Queen Acid Berry Gown available exclusively at the Christmas Expo2013. So, if you like my gown selection for this evening hop over and check out Purple Moon’s store at the Christmas Expo! Taxi…
